Bernardo Yorba Middle School student Nisreen Al-Khatib was chosen as student of the week for History for Mr. Spoonhower’s class.
When asked what her reaction was when being chosen she said “ I was very excited to be chosen student of the week for this class.”
Nisreen was chosen because “she is always positive and eager to do the best in everything”, said Mr. Spoonhower. She is a hard-working student who always has her work done on time. She says “I enjoy note guides because you learn a lot of new things about history.” Mr. Spoonhower said, “Nisreen inspires other students around her to do their best.”
While Nisreen was out of school on a family vacation, she worked on her own and made up all her work the second she got back. Nisreen said, “My first short answer question on a test was challenging because it was my first time, so I was worried I wouldn’t catch all the details.”
Nisreen is thankful for the amount of time Mr. Spoonhower gives them in class to do work and study. She also appreciates how Mr. Spoonhower is patient with the students. Some of Nisreen’s hobbies include watching shows and spending time with family and friends.
