Troy High School Students Arrested for Potential School Shooting
Two 16-year-old Troy High School students were taken into custody on Wednesday, February 1 on accusations that of plotted a school shooting “bigger than Columbine in 1999” according to CBSLA.com
“The boys were overheard discussing plans to “shoot up” the school while attending an athletic event Tuesday evening,” said Sgt. Jon Radus of the Fullerton Police Department.
A woman attending a soccer game took a picture of the two students and submitted a picture to the police. The police used the photo to track down the suspects and later took them into custody.
The boys also discussed firearms, stated ABC News. The boys are in Orange County Juvenile Hall and are being detained on suspicion of making criminal threats and conspiracy to commit a felony, according to ocregister.
If you ever hear anyone talking about a shooting at a school you should tell an adult, teacher, or the police immediately.
In an interview with the Matador Messenger, Deputy Doty, the school research officer for Yorba Linda, California, stated, “You can use text a tip or contact an adult immediately so then you can get the police.”
