Music Legend Prince Dies at Age 57


The multi-platinum selling music legend, Prince Rogers Nelson, died on April 21st due to an overdose of painkillers after leaving the hospital the night before, according to

Born as Prince Rogers Nelson, the ‘legend,’ Prince, was famous for his songs that defied genre. He used every genre for his music including Jazz, Pop, R&B, and much more. He was also widely known for releasing his hit single, Purple Rain, which grossed almost $70 million in the U.S. box office. According to, before his death, Prince’s plane had an emergency landing due to a “health scare,” because he had been fighting the flu at that time and overdosed on pain medicine pills. Investigators later found out that Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator right before his death.

In a statement, the Carver County sheriff, Jim Olson, said that deputies responded to an emergency call at 9:43 a.m. “When deputies and medical personnel arrived,” he said,

“they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator. Emergency medical workers attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 a.m.

Investigators have not found any further information about how Prince died yet.
