“I wish that this last American Idol season is the best one yet,” wishes Harry Connick Jr., as he blows out his birthday candles. “And, I’ve  got a feeling this one will come true.”

After 10 years, 15 seasons, 345 Billboard chart toppers, and an assortment of molded careers and pop icons, hit TV show “American Idol”, is coming to an end for its final season in 2016.

The regular judges for the conclusion of the show are Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. But, as Ryan Seacrest recently announced, most former judges will return at some point this season such as  Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, Steven Tyler, Ellen DeGeneres, Nicki Minaj, and Kara DioGuardi.

Some of the most successful pop idols that were molded by the show include Carrie Underwood, winner of 7 grammies and the most no. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs, Jordan Sparks, at age 17 the youngest winner in Idol history, and Phillip Phillips who performed his original song “Home” during the London Olympics in 2012.
“American Idol changed people’s’ lives. Not just me, not the contestants, but the people watching it because it made them believe they could do anything.” Jennifer Lopez insights. Fans are looking forward to perhaps the best season yet, but then saying goodbye to Idol forever.
