The Philadelphia Eagles on Friday March 28th released wide receiver DeSean Jackson, a move that comes just two years after the playmaker signed a five-year contract extension, stated espn.go.com. The Eagles’ decision to cut ties with one of the most electrifying players in club history comes after the team uncovered information about Jackson’s off-field connections and activities, according to espn.go.com.

Many Fans believe that Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Chip Kelly, did not like DeSean Jackson and that’s why the Eagles released him. Eagles’s running back, LeSean McCoy, said he never saw a problem between Kelly and Jackson. “I’ve never seen that,” McCoy said. “I’ve never seen them two really get into it. Coach Kelly, the good thingI will say about him is he’s understanding.  So if there’s ever an issue or problem, he seems to always work it out.”DeSean Jackson felt that he wasn’t getting the proper amount of money after his career record of 82 catches, 1,332 yards, and 9 touchdowns.

On April 2nd DeSean signed a contract with the Washington Redskins. This contract guarantees 16million dollars, 32million for four years, and 5million as assigning bonus. Desean Jackson knew he found the right place when the Redskins gave him the money that he truly wanted. Redskins coach, Jay Gruden, said “I’m glad that we acted fast enough or else DeSean would be having this talk with the New York Jets.”
