Box-Office Hit to Become Broadway Musical

Disney CEO, Bob Iger, has confirmed that Disney’s Academy Award-Winning film, Frozen, will soon be making its way to Broadway as a musical, according to broadway.com.

Frozen managed to enchant millions, grossing about $1,049,744,862 internationally, according to boxofficemojo.com. The movie also received an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

The movie’s soundtrack also managed make it onto Billboard’s Top 200 taking the list’s number one spot. “Let it Go,” performed by Idina Menzel. While husband and wife team, Tony Award-winning, Robert Lopez and Kristen-Anderson Lopez, managed to receive an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Frozen’s hit songs were performed by Broadway legend, Idina Menzel (Elsa). Others behind the movie’s voices were Hollywood star, Kristin Bell (Anna), and Glee’s Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), who also appeared on Broadway.

The musical has no set date or timeframe on when it is expected to come to Broadway. As stated by Iger in an interview with, Fortune, “We are not demanding speed. We’re demanding excellence.”
