“I’ll answer one question on contract talks- there have been no discussions,” said Mike Trout’s agent, Craig Landis. Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels’ key outfielder, is pushing a large contract that could reach $100 million to $200 million if Trout signs with the Angels for nine to ten more years, according to The LA Times.
Trout has risen to be Rookie of the Year in his 2012 season. According to ESPN.com, Mike Trout has become the first rookie ever to have 30 or more home run and more than 40 stolen bases. He almost did it again in his 2013 season with 26 home runs and only 33 stolen bases.
With only two years of experience, Trout’s record has surpassed some of baseball’s best hitters at the age of only 21. Even so, Trout understands the need to focus on the present, whether it is at bat or on the field.
“Keep your head on the ball. You’ve got to hit it first, then look where it goes. People get in trouble when they look for where the ball’s going, and they haven’t even hit it yet,” advises Trout (Brainyquotes.com.)
