BMYS 8th-grader, Dorothy “Dot” Tulinius in Mr. Ford’s 3rd-period class, has been selected by Mr. Ford as the student of the week. He says they show “maturity well beyond their 13 years.”

Dot’s first reaction to being chosen was, “shocked, but also really happy.“ They find reading and writing fun about school. Dot says they appreciate their teacher’s teaching style so they don’t have homework. During the BYMS 2021-22 school year, Dot found completing worksheets challenging. Outside of school, they enjoy, “reading, skating, and oil painting.”

Mr. Ford says Dot stood out from all the other students because they “understand the concept of writing.”  Dot excelled at a personal essay where they had a good, strong foundation of the process of writing. They are a role model for the other students because they “make wise choices in regards to [their] education… [They] need very little supervision and understand why [they] are in school.

Overall, Dot is mature, understanding, and a great OLÉ demonstrating student.
