Men’s World Cup Non-Qualifiers to Participate in “Friendly Tournament”

All FIFA men’s soccer  teams that did not qualify for the 2018  World Cup, have decided to have a friendly tournament that will be held on three different fields Krestovsky Stadium, Kaliningrad Stadium, Otkrytiye Arena,  June 14, 2018 until July 15,  2018. according to www.cnn.com

The idea of having a tournament for the World Cup non qualifiers was created by the  United States Soccer Federation (USSF). according to www.bbc.com

The teams that did not qualify for the World Cup held in Russia include the following; Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Chile, DR Congo, Ghana, Greece, Holland, Honduras, Hungry, Indonesia, Italy, Mongolia, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United States, Wales. The top five favorites to win the friendly tournament are Italy, England,  Hungary, Republic of Ireland, and USA.

The best player from each team are as follows:

  • Italy: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 6 goals over the last 5 tournaments.
  • England: Harry Kane has scored 13 goals over the last 5 tournaments.
  • Hungary: Ferenc Puskas has scored 9 goals in the last 5 tournaments .
  • Ireland: Robbie Keane has scored 8 goals over the last 5 tournaments.

USA: Clint Dempsey scored 10 goals of the last 5 tournaments. according to www.fifa.com
