CSUF Softball Coach Kelly Ford Achieves 600 Wins

“Creating an environment where the athlete can reach their potential”

CSUF women’s softball celebrates another win.

“I just had my 600 win 3 wins ago, so I have 600 career wins which is pretty cool and I’m proud of,” stated Coach Kelly Ford, Cal State Fullerton’s Head Softball coach in an interview with the Matador Messenger.

“Kelsi Kessler threw a shutout and was named the Big West Pitcher of the week, two weeks ago,” stated Coach Ford. “Shianne Brannan is doing an outstanding job at shortstop and she’s been our starting shortstop since she’s walked on campus.”

“Lexi Gonzalez and Kylie Padilla are two returning starting seniors and they alternate at catcher and they are great leaders,” added Coach Ford.

Coach Ford stated, “My #1 job is to create an environment where the athlete can reach their potential and I do that to make sure the environment ensures confidence and when the athlete has the confidence then I can coach them to do really about anything.”

“We went on an amazing international tournament to Porta Verde, which was an invite only tournament,” stated Coach Ford. “We hosted one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country March 2-5,  many of the top 25 programs were here competing in this tournament.”

The Cal State Fullerton Softball team plays at San Diego State on Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March10th at Boston University, according to fullertontitans.com.
