Darren Collison Arrested for Domestic Abuse

Sacramento Kings starting point guard, Darren Collison, was arrested on Monday, May 30, 2016 at his residence in Northern California. Darren was arrested for physically abusing his wife

. According to ESPN.com, “The Placer County (California) Sheriff’s Office said in a release on Tuesday they arrested Collison midday Monday after deputies found the woman visibly injured.” Collison had no previous record of domestic violence and this violent outbreak was triggered by an unknown reason.

The alleged victim is his wife, Keyosha Collison. The charge — ‘inflicting corporal injury’ — gives no indication as to the severity of the situation. Collison was released midday Monday on $55,000 bail, reported USAToday.com

“We’ve been made aware of the situation,” the Kings said in a statement Tuesday, according to the report. “The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information, and once all facts are known, we will take appropriate steps,” reported bleacherreport.com

Darren Collison while playing with the Sacramento Kings averaged 14.4 points and 4.3 assists per game. Collison played 74 games last season but missed 33 games in the previous season due to a core muscle injury requiring surgery. Before he played with the Kings, he played with the New Orleans Pelicans, the Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, and the Los Angeles Clippers in his seven year career, reported ESPN.com.
