After winning his second straight MVP award, Stephen Curry, Warriors’ point guard, put on a show to finish off the Portland Trail Blazers by hitting his fifth three-pointer and created enough space on Trail Blazer’s Al-Farouq Aminu to give the Warriors a 121-116 lead with 24.9 seconds left. That three was the dagger, stated mercurynews.com.

The Warriors earned their second straight trip to the Western Conference Finals with a 125-121 victory over the Trail Blazers in Game 5 on Wednesday, May 11. Warriors’ shooting guard, Klay Thompson, scored 33, Steph Curry added 29, and shooting guard, Draymond Green, put up a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) as Golden State ended the series with a 4-1 win, reported sbnation.com.

“The way Steph finished the game, that step-back shot … was probably only a shot he can make,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr explained. “We didn’t really execute that well down the stretch. It was mostly just Steph making a play.”

“That’s what you practice every day for and go through the regular season to be in those kind of moments,” stated Curry.

Next round the Warriors will play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, May 16, cited NBA
