The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Green Bay Packers 26-20 in the NFC Divisional playoff game Saturday night on January 16, stated oregonlive.com.
One the very first play of overtime, Cardinals quarterback, Carson Palmer, spun away from a defender and threw across his body to uncovered wide receiver, Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald dashed through tacklers for 75 yards as the roaring Cardinal’s fans finally drowned out the visiting fans. He was tackled at the 5-yard line. On the next play, Palmer shoveled the ball to Fitzgerald who sprinted with it into the endzone to give the Cardinals a 26-20 important victory over the Green Bay Packers, wrote ESPN.
“As simple a word as ‘special’ is, it describes him probably the best,” Palmer said.
Fitzgerald caught eight passes for 176 yards. “As an elder statesman on this team, I try to elevate my game and make plays for my teammates,” he explained.
The Cardinals will now face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, January 24 in the NFC Championship game. The Panthers just beat the Seahawks 31-24 back on Sunday, January 16. It’s going to be a tough game to be in with the Super Bowl awaiting, according to NFL.
