Jose Reyes Arrested for Abuse

Rockies shortstop, Jose Reyes, arrested for abusing his wife in Maui, Hawaii. The Colorado Rockies issued, “We are extremely disappointed and concerned,” stated ESPN.com

 

According to New York Daily News, Reyes must appear in Maui court November fourteenth. His wife was taken to Maui Medical Center with injuries to her thigh, neck, and wrist, according to Hawaii News Now. Reyes was issued a citation and has been told not to contact his wife for three days, stated ESPN.com

 

Reyes was released on a thousand dollar bail. He was pleading not guilty for abusing his wife. His wife was treated immediately by medics at the scene. She was then taken to the hospital and was treated for additional treatment after the incident. Reports say Reyes’ wife had scratches on her neck and bruises on her legs, stated ESPN.com

 

He was absent for the arraignment, as his defense attorney, David Sereno, waved-++ his presence. His next court date is January 14 pretrial hearing. MLB has been investigating the “facts and circumstances” of Reyes’ arrest, explained ESPN.com

MLB has warned Jose Reyes and there is a possible chance that he may be suspended for 81 games or maybe the whole season of 2016. He is currently 32 years old, reported MLB.com.
