Magic Johnson Donates $1 Million to OneGoal Chicago

NBA Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson (Magic Johnson) gave a $1 million to OneGoal Chicago, an organization to make students successful, according to chicagobusiness.com

 

“We knew he was going to announce he was joining our national board, but we had no idea he was going to make any gift, especially such a significant one,” said Sarah Berghorst, executive director of OneGoal Chicago. The organization works with teachers so they can mentor students to help them with their first year of college, according to chicagobusiness.com.

 

This isn’t thought the first time Magic Johnson has gave money to Chicago. He donated $10 million to a summer employment program for students in Chicago, according toblackenterprise.com

 

Johnson has been someone who has been a supporter of a non-profitable organization. He raised around $50,000 for from 600 guests. One guest stated, “You really felt the magic in the room.”, according to OneGoalGraduation.org
