“I wrestled throughout high school and college and I have coached wrestling for 22 years. I was also the president of the Orange County Wrestling coaches association for several years.  I love the sport and really think it teaches kids great life skills so I try to get people involved whenever I can,” stated BYMS Assistant Principal Steve Marshall.

On April 20th, Bernardo Yorba started a wrestling clinic to teach kids the basics of wrestling. “I used to be the coach at Esperanza and have known the new head coach there for many years.  I thought that it would be a great chance for our students to experience wrestling, and would also encourage kids to wrestle once they got to Esperanza,” said Mr. Marshall.

When asked what the students would learn Mr.Marshall replied, ”They will learn some basic offensive and defensive skills, then have a chance to practice them and wrestle against each other using the skills they’ve learned.”
