Jordan Spieth Wins the Masters

Jordan Spieth won first place, followed by Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose tied for 2nd with -14, stated masters.com.  On April 9-12 the 2015 Masters golf tournament was broadcasted  on television, and Jordan Spieth won the green jacket with a score of -18 according to cbssports.com.

The Masters was first played in 1934, and it has been going ever since (It was briefly cancelled from 1943 to 1945 because of World War II), reported answers.com. Spieth won the Masters, but he also set many records for the tournament, including most birdies (28), at age 21 he is the second-youngest Masters winner ever (1st is Tiger Woods in 1997), and tied Tiger Woods for best overall score of 18 under 270, according to cbssports.com.

Spieth was ahead from the beginning of the tournament to the end of the tournament, making him the first person to do that since 1976, reported masters.com. The other golfers came close to passing up spieth, but Jordan Spieth stayed ahead, according to masters.com.

Along with the green jacket Spieth won $1.8 million of total purse, which is nearly $200,000 more than Bubba Watson won as a Masters champion last year, reported sbnation.com.
