Local Cheer Teams Attend Cheer and Dance National Championships

“Florida is such a neat experience and its so fun to watch everyone else’s routine and practices,” stated Kylie Enslow, a cheerleader from Brea Wildcats, about her experience at the 2014 Cheer and Dance National Championships held at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Center, in Orlando Florida, from December 6-12.

Just to make it to the National Championships, teams have to qualify, and be in  the top two teams in a region. . When teams arrive in Florida they stay at one of the Disney Resorts, which includes park hopper tickets as well. When not competing, teams visit Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.

“It’s such an experience to meet all these cheerleaders from all over the United States, something I would never have the chance to do again,” commented Kylie. “It is very nerve wrecking backstage, because we worked so hard for this and only get one chance to show the judges what we have, two and a half minutes, and its over. You just got to leave it on the mats,” added Kylie.
