Missing Ohio State Football Player Found Dead Due to Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Ohio State football player Kosta Karageorge, fifth year senior at Ohio State went missing from practice on Wednesday and has not been seen since. Sgt. Richard Weiner, with Columbus police, said he apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.


He was found dead inside of a dumpster and was identified as Kosta due to tattoos. A handgun was also recovered at the scene, according to ktla5.com


“The Ohio State University Department of Athletics was shocked and saddened to learn today of the death of student-athlete Kosta Karageorge, a senior from Columbus. Said Karageorge’s school.


Kosta’s mom stated in an interview that her son, last week had complained about some concussion symptoms before he went missing. Also that her son had several concussions and so called “confusion spells”.


Susan Karageorge stated that she received a text from her son at 1:30 a.m. saying: “I am sorry if I am an embarrassment but these concussions have my head all messed up.”


The funeral service for Kosta is taking place on December 3, 2014.
