The World Series is an iconic time for baseball fans, because the two best teams in all of baseball will face off. This year the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals will face each other in a best of seven series, stated sbnation.com

The World Series is held once a year after all of the elimination games are finished. The first World Series was held in 1903 featuring the Boston Americans versus the Pittsburg Pirates according baseball-reference.com.

The team who has won the most World Series games of all time is the New York Yankees with 27 all time wins which is a huge margin above the second place all time Series wins the St. Louis Cardinals who have won 11 rings. The team with the least amount of World Series wins that have at least one is a three way tie between the Kansas City Royal, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Arizona Diamondbacks, stated by foxnews.com.

The Royals and the Giants who have already started their World Series are finished with game one, with the final score being 7-1, with a Giants win that stopped the Royals historic eight game wining streak and are now tied with the Giants for the 2nd longest wining streak in the postseason, according to ESPN News.

The Royal’s last postseason appearance was in 1985, and they made it all the way to the World Series facing the St. Lois Cardinals and walked away with, so far, their one and only win. The Royals are looking to make club history by wining another World Series, according to sbnation.com.

The Giant’s last postseason appearance was in 2012, with a win against the Rangers in a 4-1 series. The Giants are looking to find their 5th World Series ring in club history against the Royals who are on a hot streak, the final score of the second game being 7-2, with that win; the Royals have tied up the series 1-1.
