Fortnite, 2018’s most highly reviewed game according to IGN, has now launched a new chapter on October 15th, 2019 after a black hole closed the first 10 seasons out. Now players can fish, drive boats, and explore a totally new map.
Epic Games also reworked the “Battle Pass” system, letting players complete easy challenges for a level up. and earn badges for elims and long term survival. Another interesting feature of this new chapter is that players can upgrade the rarity of their weapons for only a few materials, according to Fortnite’s official website.
In addition to the many new “upgrades”, Virginia, from Epic Games’ Player Support division, stated in an interview with the Matador Messenger that Fortnite also has the added benefit of allowing players to interact with other players and improve their social skills
“Please note that teams also succeeds or fails based on the level of communication during a game. But a battle can quickly be lost if teammates fail to talk about what they see and what should be the next step. The best players don’t risk fighting in silence. Eventually, you learn how to communicate and develop communication skills with your teammates.”
When she was asked about how the game helps improve your teamwork, Virginia stated, “When that game is immediately followed by actual work, you start to see different beneficial interactions emerge. You need to think all together and plan the best movements in a match so you start learning on how to work in a team with other players regardless you see them through a screen.”
