Unlike the truffula trees in the Lorax, this plant comes with a sting. A park ranger in Atlanta, Texas found a strange plant on the bottom of an oak tree.
The plant is called a Wool Sower Gall. It’s a plant with an abnormal tissue growth, according to mnn.com.
The Texas park rangers explain on their facebook post that, “the eggs hatch in the spring, chemicals on the grubs stimulate the plant to produce this gall, which provides food and protection for the growing wasps.”
