Apple is creating a new app called Clips, an alternative to Snapchat and Instagram, according to Hypebeast. Clips will be free to download when it launches in April, according to TechCrunch.
The app has many features like live captions, filters, and emoji stickers like Snapchat or Instagram. “Live captions are captions that you easily create just by talking as you record.” “Choose from a variety of styles, all perfectly timed to the sound of your voice,” according to Apple on their website.
Clips will be compatible with iPhone 5s or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation), iPad Air or later, iPad mini 2 or later, and iPod touch (6th generation) and requires iOS 10.3 or later, Apple stated on their website.
You can also post your moments from the app on Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, and Vimeo, according to Apple
Clips will be facing huge competition with Instagram and Snapchat. Every day 158 million people are using Snapchat and on average open the app 18 times a day, stated Businessinsider.com. Just last December, Instagram was used by 600 million people, according to Statista.com
According Hypebeast, Apple fans can try out Clips for themselves when it launches for free on the Appstore in April.
