Another area that was hit by on of the 27 devastating tornadoes was Marshalltown. “Marshalltown, Iowa suffered major damage, including to its police department and City Hall, while the Vermeer Plant in Pella took a direct hit from an apparent tornado,” reported ABC News.

“‘It was bad I’ve seen a lot  of tornado stuff [in the past],’ she[Julie Owen, a Grandma who was trying to visit her grandkids while the storm hit in Marshalltown] said. ‘It’s not like the whole town is destroyed, but downtown, a city of its size, is something else, ” responded CNN.

Many citizens were begging for mercy, trying to save resources, and trying to survive. “‘Devastated to see the destruction from today’s severe storms & tornadoes. Praying for all Iowans impacted & for the emergency management crews responding tonight,’ Gov. Kim Reynolds tweeted Thursday,” stated CNN.
