Joaquín Guzmán, also known as El Chapo, was recently arrested on January 8, 2016, after a gunfight with the military in Sinaloa, according to Rolling Stones.

Rolling Stone had an exclusive interview with El Chapo that was arranged by Mexican actress Kate Del Castillo, who portrays a Mexican drug queen. Actor Sean Penn and El Chapo met in the “mountainous Mexican jungle.” Sean Penn calls it “the first interview El Chapo had ever granted outside an interrogation room,” CNN reported.

“Since he arrived, he has been in eight different cells,” Sanchez said of Guzman’s time in prison. Three months after drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped from prison, he met actor Sean Penn for a secret interview in a mountainous Mexican jungle.

Mexican forces arrested Guzman on Friday after a shootout that ended his freedom following his brazen prison escape in July, according to CNN.

When El Chapo escaped from his jail cell in July, it deeply embarrassed the  government of President Enrique Pena Nieto. El Chapo escaped the prison in July last year by digging a hole underground, leading him out of his cell and to a construction site across the way, according to cbs news.
