Truck Carrying Stocks of Nintendo ‘Splatoon’ Hijacked in UK

A delivery truck carrying Nintendo’s Splatoon Amiibos and games was robbed at an unidentified Nintendo UK warehouse while it  was on its way to GAME, a British retailer, on May 29th, stated Tech Times.

“We can confirm that the lorry transporting the Splatoons stock from Nintendo’s European warehouse to GAME UK has been stolen,” said Nintendo in a statement. “Included as part of this delivery was GAME’s allocation of the Splatoon + Squid Inkling amiibo and as a result we are unable to honor pre-orders for this item in GAME.”

Amiibos are detailed figurines of some of Nintendo’s best characters. Some amiibo’s can be very rare and be worth hundreds of dollars. To acquire some of these figurines people go amiibo hunting. Most of the time amiibo hunting is usually  tame, though at times it can result in fist fights and even hijacking, stated Gamesradar.

Preorders that are due for delivery on May 29 will no longer be available.  However, GAME added that they are not getting replacements for the lost items.  “We will be discounting this edition by £10 (approximately $15) from £52.99 to £42.99 (around $81 to $65) to apologize for this inconvenience,” stated  GAME, as reported tech times.
