Russia Sends Airstrikes To Syria

US officials confirmed that Russia sent airstrikes to Syria on September 30th.  Although Isis reportedly was their target, Al assad’s enemies were also struck, reported cnn.com.

 US officials expressed their disappointment and doubts. US Defense Secretary Ash Carter stated, “I want to be careful about confirming information, but it does appear that they (Russian airstrikes) were in areas where there probably were not Isil forces,” added cnn.com.

Carter also claims that “the result of this kind of action will inevitably, simply be to inflame the civil war in Syria.” According to a Syrian Observatory for Human Rights based in London, England, 28 people were killed in the strikes, including women and children.

Officials from the United States and Russia talked on the morning of October 1st to calm down the tension between their opposing military operations in Syria, reported www.nbcnews.com. The country’s Defense Ministry said a day after it changed the calculus of mideast politics by entering the Syrian civil war on the side of the President Bastar Al- Assad.

It seems that Russia has been escalating Syria’s civil war, according to www.reuters.com, Defense Secretary Ash Carter said in a speech, “By taking military action in Syria against moderate groups targets, Russia has escalated the civil war,” according to the same source.
