“I should have used two accounts. One for personal, one for work- related emails. That was a mistake. I’m sorry about that. I take responsibility.” stated Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of state and Democratic presidential candidate regarding her use of personal email for business after insisting that she had done nothing wrong for months according to ABC News.
It was found earlier this year that Clinton used her personal email during her tenure as US Secretary of State. During an investigation of the Benghazi incident it was discovered that she was sending and receiving work-related emails on her personal account. The email she used was based off of a server at her home in Chappaqua New York, according to ABC News.
During a Justice Department investigation, Clinton handed over a thumb drive although not all of her emails were on it. 13,000 emails were declared personal, but none have been checked. Some emails sent from her personal email have been found to be top secret, says wnd.com.
Clinton claimed that she’s “trying to be as transparent as possible” but she still hasn’t handed over access to all of the emails stated One American News Network.
Suspicions have been confirmed that 57 emails contained foreign government’s information. “pls use this for reply” wrote Clinton in one of her emails on her personal account concerning work. These emails included information from conversations with foreign government officials such as Spain’s foreign minister, prime ministers , and spy chiefs. None of these emails were secured by the U.S government.
According to a Washington Post poll, now 53% of Americans do not consider Clinton trustworthy. This might endanger her presidential campaign for 2016.
The security of Clinton’s account has also caused controversy according to gawker.com. Once you find the URL, you can try to login to her account and when searching sslvpn.clintonemail.com while using google chrome the page will say that your connection is not private.
Democrats are now concerned about her honesty, trustworthiness, and crisis handling. Her numbers are declining in her campaign for president.
“I love it – those messages disappear all by themselves.” Clinton joked about snap chat, which she recently downloaded, now mocking the whole scandal. “Clinton’s email problem won’t go away.” says the Los Angeles Times.
