iPhone 6 and 6+: Bigger Can be Better

Apple founder Steve Jobs stated  in 2010, “No one would want to buy a phone with a big screen”, but according to Business Insider the iPhone 6 / 6+ is driving a 276 billion dollar  smartphone market right now.

Reports and photos of the iPhone 6 bending have been posted on the internet according to Engadget.com. However, the larger iPhone 6 Plus is actually stronger than its brother, only deforming under 90 pounds of pressure, more than the 70 it took to bend the standard iPhone 6.Only 9 people have complained to Apple about the iPhone 6 bending, according Engadget.com.

The iPhone 6 has a starting price at $199 . It is available in 3 colors, silver, gold, and space gray. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch led backlit widescreen multi touch display. The screen has a 1920 1080 solution with 401ppi. It has an 8 megapixel camera with 1.5µ pixels, according to the Apple website.

The iPhone 6+ has a starting price at $299.  The 6+ has a 5.5 inch LED backlit widescreen multi touch display. It has a 1334 by 750 pixel resolution at 326 ppi. And also has a 8 megapixel camera with 1.5µ pixels, according to Apple. Addition gigabytes can raise the price upwards of $399 to $499.

The iPhone 6 and its larger brother the 6+ have features that they share. Both Phones have an A8 chip with 64- bit architecture M8 motion coprocessor. On video recording apple has added cinematic video stabilization and continuous auto focus video. On face time camera there is now burst mode. Burst mode takes 10 photos per second on the new iPhone. Burst mode is like holding down the camera button and it taking a bunch of photos, stated Apple.

One fun improvement to the iPhone line available on the iPhone 5 S, 6, and 6+ is the Slow-Mo feature which allows the user to take video action in slow motion.  The larger screen on the 6’s also allows the uses to have a side by side split screen on both mail and home screen pages.

This reporter has “test-driven”  the iPhone 6+/ 6 and I thought that the  size is manageable.  It is  not too big and it’s not too small, but a good compromise for the added screen size . It feels sturdy, unlike reports to the contrary. I liked the feature of reach ability because the phone is too big to use with one hand, so this help you if you just want to use one hand. Overall, I would recommend both of these phones.
