Arificial sweeteners diminish the reward center in the brain which makes humans crave more foods with calories and sweet tasting food. People that drink diet soda have an increased risk of diabetes, strokes, and heart disease. Diet soda is made with artificial sweeteners that can cause people to gain more weight because it makes you crave more sugar. In a study by the University of Texas 41% of people that drink diet soda are most likely to be overweight. Drinking diet soda could increase a person’s risks to developing osteoporosis. Phosphoric acid, which is found in colas, has been proven to have a negative effect on bone matter like teeth.
