Eesha Khare ,an 18 year old Lynbrooke High School student from San Jose, California has created a gadget witch can charge a mobile phone within 20-30 seconds. The device is called a Super Capacitor according to http://www.ibtimes.co.uk. The device is small enough to fit into the phone and this could mean that a phone can be fully charged or never ending.
Eesha’s invention was presented at one of the world’s most prestigious science fairs where Khare won a prize of $50,000. She said that the money would go towards funding for her studies as she was recently offered a spot in Harvard according tohttp://www.ibtimes.co.uk. “With this money I will be able to pay for my college and also work on making scientific advancements,” said Khare. According to CBS San Francisco, Khare was selected over 1,600 other finalists from more than 70 countries on May 17 at the 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair held in Phoenix, Ariz
Big tech companies like Google have approached Khare about her invention. She has been offered a fortune which could be worth millions. The Super Capacitors is a device that charges up very quickly and is capable of dispensing 10,000 recharged cycles. This is about 10 times the performance of a conventional battery. They are not widely used because they store less energy than normal batteries. “The super capacitor I have developed uses a special nano structure, which allows for a lot greater energy per unit volume,” she said during the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona according tohttp://www.ibtimes.co.uk.
Eesha, according to Huff Post Teen, explained to Intel hat the super capacitor functions as an energy storage device, holding a great amount energy in a small amount of space. NBC reports that the device is not only very fast it is also portable because of its small size. Eesha says it can fit inside of cell phones and other electronic devices, meaning people will not need to rely on electric outlets as often.
