Train Crash in Los Angeles Leaves 30 Injured

About 30 were injured,  when a train hit a truck in Ventura County, which is about 70 miles northwest of Los Angeles, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, according to nbclosangeles.com.

“I just heard a bang and then an explosion,” Jorge Garcia, a witness of the crash, said. “It was a big old boom. And then the ambulances started. … You could see it was something big,” reported latimes.com.

At 5:45 am, the VC line 102 train hit a truck near 5th Avenue and Rice Street in Oxnard, reported cbsnews.com. The train driver was going at 79 miles per hour, and saw the truck from a far away distance and attempted to apply the emergency brakes, statedcbsnews.com. The crash did not have any fatalities, but four were left in critical condition, according tonbclosangeles.com.

The driver of the truck tried to flee the scene, but the police detained him and are questioning about his involvement with the crash, stated nbclosangeles.com.
