“My sincerest hope is that each one of those items donated brings joy, provides warmth, or puts food on the table of families who need it most,” said PYLUSD Superintendent Dr. Doug Domene, about the holiday gift event being sponsored by the 22 district schools.
Elementary, middle, and high schools are collecting everything from foods to toys and blankets. The proceeds will go to organizations such as CHOC, Yorba Linda Food for Families and Spark of Love Toy Drive.
“One of the many characteristics of the students and staff in our school district is that they are always willing to help. In fact, ‘collaboration’ is one of the core values in our school district,” explained Dr. Domene.
The public can contribute to the organizations if they contact their local schools. Listed below are the organizations that each school is contributing.
“There is nothing more heartwarming than knowing that you made a difference in a person’s life. That is something that cannot be expressed in words but only felt. It is something that those who give experience and always remember when they help a fellow human being,” stated Dr. Domene.
