House Catches Fire Two Blocks from BYMS

A house at 19000 Le Mans Circle caught fire only two blocks from Bernardo Yorba Middle School at 11:50 PM on Wednesday September 17th.

Thirty- three firefighters worked to contain the fire and eventually extinguished it within an hour. The damage caused at least $600,000 for the structural harm and $200,000 to the inside destruction, according to http://www.ocregister.com.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire; everyone was able to evacuate the neighborhood safely, according to Phil Johnson of the OCFA (Orange County Fire Association). Three men who had lived in the house; the roof of it had later collapsed.

“They knew how to get out of the house quickly,” stated Johnson. “But you should always check your smoke detectors.”

No one knows what had caused this fire; the house is still under investigation by the OFCA and the police.
