Honey: Pampering and Calming the Skin and Hair


       Honey is an ancient, sweet, and healthy substance that individuals have been using differently over time. Here are some healthy and helpful ways to use honey to pamper hair and skin.


Honey hair shine-boosting rinse:

 Honey is a great way to help give the hair a shine effect  – as if  one had just got out of the shower. For an easy honey shine-boosting rinse recipe, the following is needed:

  1. Fill up 5 cups with warm water, and then mix approximately 1- ½ tsp honey. 
  2. Rinse thoroughly through hair (without the honey rinse on)
  3. Apply the honey to the hair and leave it on
  4. Dry and style hair as usual


      Moisturizing honey face mask:

This moisturizing face mask guarantees that the face will “feel clean and soft”afterwards, according to Treehugger. Before doing this mask, make sure all hair is protected and pulled back.

  1. Scoop a plentiful amount of honey, proceeding to spread it over the face. Rub the honey into the skin and let sit for around 5-30 minutes. 
  2. After sitting for some time, rinse face with warm water.


 Cleopatra’s milk-and-honey bath soak:

This bath soak is a muscle relaxer and can help loosen stiff joints. It is also a great way of coping with anxiety and helps calm the body.

  1. Mix 2 cups of milk with ¼ cup of honey. Then add as many drops of essential oil as desired. 
  2. Pour bath soak combination into the hot bath and relax. 

 Lemon honey facial treatment:

Lemons have many factors that can be astounding to human skin. This fruit is bountiful in antioxidants and vitamin C. 

  1. Split a single lemon in half, removing the seeds.
  2. Add exactly 1 tsp of honey into only one of the two halves.
  3. Rub the cut end across the face.
  4. Let sit for approximately 5 minutes, then wash with warm water.


Honey and olive oil hair mask:

 This hair mask can be used for repairing damaged and dry hair. 

1)  Before applying make sure to have clean, damp hair. 

2) Pour 1/2 cup of honey and 1/4 cup of olive oil into a bowl, and stir the mixture well.

3) Microwave mixture for 20 seconds 

4) After pulling out of the microwave, stir 

5) After stirring and letting the mixture cool for a few minutes (make sure it is warm, not cold) apply using fingertips or even a small paintbrush, start at the scalp and work the way down 

6) Gently rub fingertips into the scalp working as a massage 

7) Put something over the hair to keep in the moisturizing ingredients 

8) Leave the mask on hair for 30 minutes 
9) rinse hair thoroughly
