PYLUSD Hosting annual “Women in the Industry Event”


PYLUSD is hosting their annual “Women in the Industry” event , “an inspirational event geared towards empowering the next generation of female leaders through 21st century learning” as stated in PYLUSD. on Oct 13, 2021from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the PYLUSD Performing Arts Center located at 1651 Valencia Ave, Placentia, California, on the El Dorado High School campus. 


According to PYLUSD, the purpose of the event is to inspire young girls and women to think about their future and career path in industry and science. The event is open to the public free of charge.


Guest speakers at the event include Jennifer Milo, Athletic Director (of what organization?), Dinah Felix, Business Services Director(of what company?), Lori Riesse, Section Manager of Mission Assurance Management, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Silvia Pryor, Board Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist, Lindsey Young (Fire Marshal), and Kelsi Kleinow (Mechanical Engineer). In addition Michelle Manu (Keynote Speaker, Stuntwoman, Lawyer), and Christina Lee, (MSPT Physical Therapist/Owner, Santa Ana Tustin Physical Therapy) as reported by PYLUSD.


Guest speakers at the event will include Dina Felix Director of Business Services, Kelsi Kleinow Mechanical Engineer, Christina Lee, (MSPT Physical Therapist/Owner, Santa Ana Tustin Physical Therapy) 


Dr. Jeannie Kim, PYLUSD Administrator of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, stated, “The Women in Industry event is a special event because it’s a platform for students to learn about women in various industries that can be explored as students begin to think about pathway careers and courses that they want to pursue.”


“It’s absolutely okay to put yourself out there and ask for advice and time with people who inspire you. You can explore different career and course options as a student, so that when you do become an adult, you have gathered an understanding of various pathways or careers, and you will make the best career decision for yourself.” Dr.Jeannie Kim, event organizer, stated in an interview with the Matador Messenger.
