Making your home look decorative for the Memorial day can be quite expensive. With these  Memorial day crafts and decorations, you can have the privilege of feeling festive, without having to pay the price.


Clothespin Wreath

This festive decoration is easy to make perfect for Memorial Day. 



  • One 12-inch box wreath frame
  • 64 or more clothespins
  • Red, white, and blue spray paint
  • 10 wooden stars
  • Paint brushes
  • Hot glue gun
  • String or ribbon



  1. Split the clothespins up into 3 groups, depending on how many of each color you want. Then spray paint them red, white, and blue.
  2. Spray paint the wooden stars white.
  3. Spray paint the wreath frame red, white, or blue.
  4. Clip the clothespins to the wreath in any pattern you like.
  5. Hot glue the wooden stars to the wreath wherever you want.
  6. Attach a string or ribbon to the wreath, then hang it.


Flag Snack Platter

This is an easy, patriotic snack that is perfect for this holiday. 



  • One platter
  • One bowl
  • 5-6 cups of red, fresh fruit (ex. cherries, strawberries, raspberries, watermelon)
  • 2 cups of blueberries
  • 3 cups of yogurt or white chocolate covered pretzels



  1. Wash all of your fruit and let dry.
  2. Place your blueberries in your bowl. Then put the bowl in the top, left hand corner on your platter.
  3. Place your fruit and pretzels in stripes in this order; fruit, pretzels.
  4. Repeat step 3 until you have three stripes of fruit and 2 stripes of pretzels. 


Patriotic Mason Jar Vases

These decorations are super festive, and can easily be made with household items.



  • 3 mason jars 
  • Red, white, and blue paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Painter’s tape
  • Paper
  • Any real or fake flowers of your choice.



  1. Place two stripes of tape on two of the jars leaving a gap between them, and paint the exposed parts white.
  2. Take off the tape and put new tape on the white parts of the jars, then paint the clear parts red.
  3. Take the third jar and paint the entire thing white.
  4. Get paper and cut out as many stars as you like, and tape them on the third jar wherever you want.
  5. Now paint the jar blue.
  6. Get any flowers you want and put them in the jars.


Patriotic Ice Cubes

These are some simple, patriotic ice cubes that can spice up your drinks. 



  • 3 Ice cube trays
  • Cool Blue Gatorade 
  • Fruit Punch Gatorade
  • Frost Glacier Cherry Gatorade 



  1. Take your Cool Blue Gatorade and pour it into one of your ice cube trays. 
  2. Take your Fruit Punch Gatorade and pour it into one of your ice cube trays. 
  3. Take your Frost Glacier Cherry Gatorade and pour it into one of your ice cube trays. 
  4. Put your ice cubes trays into the freezer.
  5. Let your ice cubes freeze.
  6. Take your trays out of the freezer.
  7. Take your ice cubes out of the trays and enjoy!
