Every year in the United States, about 3.9 million dogs are in shelters. Often it’s the puppies or pure breeds that get adopted, but Snooty Giggles, a dog rescue shelter located in Nashville, Tennessee, has created a YouTube video titled “Jen Foster- “Not So Different” feat. Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue (2016)” to help potential dog owners connect with dogs who are “sick, special needs, seniors, or strictly having a bad hair day.”, according to Shawn Aswad from Snooty Giggles in an interview with Matador Messenger.
“Our mission is to relieve some of the pressure off of our area shelters by pulling dogs that others overlook. We know that we cannot save everyone, so we pride ourselves on staying positive and celebrating every life that we can assist,” stated Shawn Aswad.
“All the dogs in the video are former or present fosters of Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue,”according to the article “Who Sees Disabilities When These Dogs Play?” by Mary Jo Dilonardo published by MNN. The rescue group, which has been in business for about a decade, helps relieve pressure on area shelters by taking in dogs that adopters might overlook.
“This group takes in some healthy dogs, but the real focus is on seniors, hospice, medical and special needs, says founder and director Shawn South-Aswad.,” added Mary Jo Dilonardo.
