With over 427 million  people that speak Spanish, Mrs. Amorin, Summer School Enrichment Spanish teacher believes english students should learn Spanish, “She thinks Spanish should be an essential part of being able to communicate with more people across the country” stated Amorin in an interview with the Matador Messenger.

“The hardest part about learning a new language is the new rules and grammar that are so different from our native language,” explained Mrs. Amorin. But she added that learning a new language is beneficial because you have the ability to speak to many others. “Also, it comes in handy when you are traveling to Spanish speaking countries,” she added.

Amorin has been teaching Spanish in the PYLUSD Summer School Enrichment program for over 7 years. She said her native language was Spanish and she has grown up speaking it. She loved the language so much that she wanted to teach it to others.

Students in Mrs. Amorin’s have not only enjoyed the challenges of learning and new language but the activities in classes as well.

“The fact that I get to learn a new language is very exciting,” stated Rachel Alig, an incoming 7th grader at Tuffree. “Also, I love all the different stations”.

“I love watching the Spanish movies and going through all the different stations,” stated Kendall Bangert, an incoming 7th grader at Tuffree.

“I like the Spanish movies and the projects, especially the monster project,” stated Cyril Yuseff, an incoming 7th grader at Creamer

Amorin actually had to learn English to be able to teach Spanish to our country. She said it was very challenging because of all the new words but she stated, “Once you get the hang of it, it can impact your life forever!”
