Muhammad Ali Passes Away at 74 Years Old

“The Greatest Boxer of all Time”, Muhammad Ali passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on June 3, 2016 due to Septic Shock at age 74.

Earlier in the week, Ali was admitted into the hospital with apparent respiratory problems. The family said the condition worsened within 5 days when he died because he under went septic shock, reported AL.com

According to Mayo Clinic, “Sepsis occurs when chemicals released into the bloodstream to fight an existing infection trigger inflammatory responses throughout the body. That inflammation can trigger other changes that can damage multiple organ systems and cause them to fail.”

The disease Ali was battling a called  Parkinson’s. “Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement,” stated Mayo Clinic. “It develops gradually, sometimes starting with a barely noticeable tremor in just one hand. But while a tremor may be the most well-known sign of Parkinson’s disease, the disorder also commonly causes stiffness or slowing of movement.”

Hana Ali, the daughter of Muhammad Ali, called her father” a humble mountain”and she also tweeted “ And now he has gone home to God. God bless you Daddy. YOU ARE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!” stated Cnn.com.

Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Clay but changed his name due to his new found faith in Islam. Ali faced many prejudice for being a “Black Muslim” which was unacceptable at the time. Ali didn’t care about the prejudice and was openly discussing his belief in Islam.

“A rooster crows only when it sees the light,” he said. “Put him in the dark and he’ll never crow. I have seen the light and I’m crowing,” stated Ali in an interview. “You call it Black Muslims, I don’t. The real name is Islam. That means peace. Yet people brand us a hate group,” sayed Ali in an interview.

In Muhammad Ali’s long boxing career he was considered the best. During 1960 -1966 Ali went 27-0 with 14 TKO’s and 6 KO’s. In his career, he had a total 56 wins and a total of 5 losses. Ali also had the honor of winning several Heavyweight championship titles and Gold Glove Champions, reported boxrec.com.
