Pokkén Tournament to be Released on Wii U on March 18th


Pokkén Tournament was originally released in Japan on July 16th of last year as an arcade and was announced for a release on the Wii U on March 18th. “Though published by Nintendo, Pokkén Tournament is being developed by Bandai Namco, the company behind popular fighting game series like Tekken and Soulcalibur,” explained www.theverge.com

Pokkén Tournament will also include amiibo support for all the amiibo currently for the game, though Nintendo has not yet revealed their functionality. A Shadow Mewtwo card will be included with first-print runs of Pokken (this doesn’t include the downloadable version), according to Express Uk .

Nintendo revealed on their official website the compatibility with amiibos by stating,“Tap the Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card to the Wii U GamePad controller to unlock Shadow Mewtwo to be played right away. Compatible with all amiibo accessories unlocking in-game items.”

The game will have 16 playable characters, consisting of: Blaziken, Braixen, Chandelure, Charizard, Garchomp, Gardevoir, Gengar, Lucario, Machamp, Mewtwo, Dark Mewtwo, Pikachu, a libre Pikachu, Sceptile, Suicune, and Weavile.

The game also will feature 20 assist Pokémon. These Pokémon include Snivy and Lapras, Emolga and Fennekin, Frogadier and Eevee, Jirachi and Whimsicott, Mismagius and Ninetails, Farfetch’d and Electrode, Togekiss and Rotom, Dragonite and Victini, Croagunk and Sylveon, Pachirisu and Magikarp.
