“One of the happiest places on earth now costs more than $1,000 to visit,” CNN reported. Disneyland, once again, has raised their prices for their annual passes. The highest pass without any blackout dates is $1,049, formerly to be $779.

Disneyland has higher prices for annual passes than Disney World now. The price for Disney World’s highest pass is $829 a year, $220 less than Disneyland’s highest pass. Disney World also raised their prices too; the highest pass used to be $654 a year, and is now $829. Even though these passes are expensive, other passes with  blockout dates cost less.

Even though the passes are even more pricey,  some benefits for the $1,049 annual pass at Disneyland are part of the package. “Instead, the park is offering two new top-level passes – the Disney Signature Plus, $1,049 with no blackout days, and the Disney Signature for $849, good for visits for about 350 days, excluding select days during the winter holiday,” OC Register explained.

Pass prices may have been raised to reduce crowds before the Star Wars land opens.“Disneyland appears to be thinning the herd now before the really big crowds flock to the park when the much-anticipated Star Wars Land opensm,” LA Times explains, “Although no opening date has been set, construction is scheduled to begin on the 14-acre themed land in 2016.”
