An Apple a Day..

Throughout the world 7,500 varieties of apples are grown, some of those apples include Granny Smith, Gala, Lodi, and Earligold. According to pickyourown.org, September’s fruit of the month is the apple.
The apple has many nutritional benefits includes high fiber, keeping your blood sugar stable, is packed with vitamin C, A, and Flavonoids. “They also are a great source of potassium which promotes heart health,” according to care2.com.
“Apples are fat, sodium, and cholesterol free,” stated extension.illinois.edu. A great source for apples is the fiber pectin. “One apple has five grains of fiber,” according to extension.illinois.edu.
Since this month is really good for apples, there is some really good apple recipes. There is glazed apple fritter, honey custard with caramelized apples, double crest pie, free form apple tart, and more. thekitchn.com.
