BYMS Performing Band Plays in the Placentia Heritage Parade

Mrs. Crecia’s Marching Band at Bernardo Yorba Middle School had its first performance on October 6, at the Placentia Heritage Parade. Her students were the third middle school to perform at 9:30 a.m. They performed for the “Activity March,” arranged by Larry Cercus.

The event was held at Tri-City Park. It began at 7:00 am for breakfast, and the festivities started at 10:00 am. The entire parade began at 9:15 a.m. More information on the festival may be found at

All of the bands, groups, and honored leaders, marched down Kraemer Boulevard. The parade is one of Placentia’s annual and traditional festivities and has been a tradition for the past 57 years.

“I feel relieved that it is over because I was stressed. It was fun, we didn’t get to do many performances last year. In my opinion, the other schools did a very good job especially the high schools. I had a great time and look forward to the next parade, stated Aditya Bhagat, one of Mrs. Crecia’s band members.

Another member,  Mack Gault stated, “I felt nervous and excited to contribute to the parade. As a member of the band, I think that the parade is fun to attend and perform in, because it’s full of fun and excitement. The other bands did very well but I mean Bernardo was amazing! The parade is very fun and important to come together and do fun things with.”
