Bernardo Yorba Middle School Book Fair

The online fair runs through November 9-22

Bernardo Yorba Middle School Book Fair

Bernardo Yorba Middle School is hosting its first Scholastic Book Fair of this school year and will be held online starting November 9th and closing November 22nd (byms.org). In an interview between Matador Messenger,  Bernardo librarian, Mrs. McCann, stated, “It is a great time to stock up on books and maybe get some gifts!”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the only way to access the online book fair is through the BYMS website. “All orders will be shipped directly to the student’s house and if the order is $25 or more in books, then shipping is free,” explained. Mrs. McCann.

Also, there are two ways to purchase your scholastic books. One way is to shop on the online store. According to bookfairs.scholastic.com, you can shop here “…for an expanded selection of exclusives, new releases, value packs, and more.” Another way is shopping at the virtual fair. Shopping here will allow students, parents, and faculty members to view over 200 new and popular books (bookfairs.scholastic.com).

“Because it is online, the types of books available vary from elementary to high school,”  added Mrs. McCann. Some of the top ten young adult books listed on the New York Times Best Seller list can be found on the online Scholastic Book Fair. These books include The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, Stamped by Jason Reynolds, Dear Justyce by Nic Stone, and many other books listed on the New York Times Best Seller List  (mytimes.com).

As stated in bookfairs.scholastic.com, every book that is purchased supports Bernardo Yorba Middle School and enhances the readers’ love for reading.
