SeaWorld Orlando will open a Sesame Street themed land in spring 2019, according to staradvertiser.com.
SeaWorld Orlando has partnered with Sesame Workshop to create the land, according to orlandosentinel.com.
The land is based on the characters and locations from the show, Sesame Street, which is a show filled with multiple characters such as Elmo and Cookie Monster that teach kids colors, numbers, and the alphabet. This show has been running since 1969, according to sesamestreet.org.
“In partnering with Sesame Workshop, we are creating a land for guests to make an authentic connection that can only be found in hugging a furry friend or reading a book with Big Bird,” stated Amanda Trauger, Experience Design Manager for SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment in an article published by insidethemagic.net.
At the park, families can explore classic neighborhoods from the show such as Mr. Hooper’s store, Big Bird’s nest, and much more. Kids will also be able to meet their favorite characters including Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird, according to orlandosentinel.com.
Sesame Street land will also feature multiple rides, both wet and dry, as well as an interactive show, and parades showcasing the characters, according to travelpulse.com.
Construction on the land has began on May 2, 2018 . Sesame Street Land will be located where Happy Harbor currently is, at the south end of SeaWorld Orlando, according to mynews13.com.
