Reach Foundation Sponsors Shamrock ‘n Run

The REACH Foundation is holding the seventh annual Shamrock n’ Run on Sunday, March 18, 2018,  at the Yorba Linda Regional Park.

“The first ShamRock ‘n Run 5K & 2K Fun Run was way back in 2012,” sated Melina Michaels, spokesperson for the REACH Foundation, in an interview with the Matador Messenger.

The purpose of the Shamrock n’ Run is to raise money for the participating PYLUSD schools. For every person who registers for the run and selects their school immediately earns $5 for the school they selected. “Simply select ‘Yes’ when you arrive at the question “Would you like to designate a $5.00 pledge?”, then select your school from the drop down menu,” according to reach “It raises money for lots of great district things like art, physical education… the middle school track meet…,” says Mr. Valburg, BYMS Principal.

The registration fees are as follows:

  • Youth 5k – $15

  • Adult 5k – $32

  • Adult 2k – $27

  • Youth 2k – $15

REACH donates five dollars of all participants’ fee to the school designated on the registration form.

The inspiration for the Shamrock n’ Run was to, “ShamRock ‘n Run was created as a fundraiser to put on the District-Wide Middle School Track Meet. As the run has become more popular in recent years the REACH Foundation has also been able to purchase playground equipment for our elementary schools,” stated Michaels.
