YLHS (Yorba Linda High School) swim will be starting to race in March of 2018. Their first meet will be on March 14th, 2018.
“The club swimmers are continuing their programs with club. The water polo boys are beginning swim prep with a few months of weight lifting and stroke work. The girls will join the boys in February after their water polo season is done,” YLHS Head Swim Coach, Shardad Djahangiry, stated in an interview with the Matador Messenger.
Nick Ding and Emma Davidson, both swimmers from YLHS, won CIF last year and as a senior, this will be Ding’s last year competing for YLHS. The boys have “great depth, top to bottom the boys are stacked and ready for a run at a title. I’d say the strength on the girls side would be the competitive fire. We aren’t as deep but they’re hungry to succeed,” Coach Shardad stated.
Coach Djahsngiry indicated that YLHS’s league has always been tough and Canyon High School made it to CIF last year and they will yet again be tough for YLHS to get past.
YLHS will be facing Esperanza on March 14th. Then they will be facing Villa Park on March 21st. After that they will be facing El Dorado on April 11th. To see their full schedule, visit centuryconference.org.
