All BYMS students are invited to attend the after school Homework Club, being held Tuesdays and Thursdays in room  from 3:15 to 4:00.

The Homework Club is sponsored by the BYMS Honor Society and supervised by Mr.Phil Seitz, BYMS social studies teacher.

“The purpose is to provide support to those students who may not have a safe place with adult support to do their homework” stated Phil Seitz.

”This way they can do it here at school rather than at home where they may not have that support because a parent may not feel capable or may have to be at work and they are unavailable” Seitz added.

Mr. Seitz indicated that the club was created to benefit not only students struggling with homework but for the honors society who wanted to help others.

“I was asked by the administration to start something like this and it was a good fit because the Honor Society students needed an opportunity to get service hours. It fits my schedule, because I am usually at school up to 5:00 pm” Seitz said.

According to BYMS students Homework Club is a quiet place to do homework and you have a chance to help others.

“I get to help out my friends and get to help out my school”BYMS student, Homework Club tutor, and 8th Grader Reese Cabral stated.

I really enjoyed this article because people that can’t get help from an adult at home they can just get it from homework club.

I agree with the fact that people who are not able to get help from a parent/adult can get their help from this program. It seems very helpful and I’m sure students are grateful to have this opportunity to get assistance with their homework!
