The BYMS Wrestling Club will resume meetings after school from 3:15 to 4:30 pm in room 802 starting on Tuesday, May 2nd and continuing on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 16th.

The club is free to join and there is no experience or ability needed to join the club. The club is co-ed; open for boys and girls.

Coach Christian Holiday, Esperanza’s head wrestling coach, will be coaching the wrestling camp. The assistant principal of BYMS and former wrestling coach, Mr. Steve Marshall, explained why the club is free to join. He stated, “The current Esperanza coach, Coach Holiday is an old friend of mine so I get him to come up and do the camps for free.”

In an interview with the Matador Messenger, Mr. Marshall explained what the students will learn at the camp.

“Students will learn how to shoot a double leg and a single leg, learn how to sprawl, and some basic wrestling movements and a wrestling stance. Coach Holiday will also get into actual skills and at some point, during the camp, they might actually do live wrestling,” stated Mr. Marshall.
